JohnnyVoIP is launching a new trial service called JohnnyCaller. This is a solution that enables embedded code on your own website that enables anyone surfing your site to in one click to call your phone. We are currently looking for those who are interested in this service to give it a try for free and work with us to make it better. JohnnyVoIP is always working to make a product better by listening to the professionals, namely YOU. Get in touch with us anyway you wish and we will be more than happy to add you to our list and contact with the information about our trial service.
We are trying to unify web and telephony, like it should be, this is just one step closer. Let us know what you think and if you have any suggestions. All feedback, good or bad, is welcome.

Another week, another release. We are bringing to you another way to bug…I mean contact your friends that do not yet have JohnnyVoIP. How are we doing it? With the limited means of Facebook, we are using those pesky notification messages for a different purpose. You type in your message and your friends see that as a notification ( currently limited to 5 messages a day ).
Finding it hard to tell when your friends message you? We are working on more tweaks to make it more apparent when you are getting a message.
Instant Messaging style changed a little bit, and now you can bold, italic and underline your messages.

Did it seem like a long and stressful week to anyone else? We have been starting to meet people and gain more exposure AND on top of that making time for feature releases! What’s new this week in JohnnyVoIP? Take a look here:
- Search your friends - there is now a box above your contact list that allows you to find people much easier
- New friend highlighting and design features
- New presence types
- Better reconnection, leave JohnnyVoIP open forever…in theory
- Presence and Presence message is now set on your profile page! ( Online is a little buggy with Facebook caching )
What’s coming next week…well honestly we’re not sure yet. We will be at DemoCamp on Monday ( hope to see you there ) and we’ll have to sort through our ever growing list of feature requests.
I’d also like to give a formal thank you to those supporters on Facebook, we appreciate your feedback and help on our bugs. We’re making this better with your help.

Another release this week and more bug and stability fixes. But those things are boring, what do you see that’s different?
- New homepage!
- Volume controls next to the video window (one for your mic sound and one for your friends sound)
Doesn’t look like we got a lot done this week does it? Well, rest assured, we have some larger changes that will make your experience even greater on JohnnyVoIP.
We would like to again thank everyone for their feedback on making this a better communication tool. If you have your own thoughts or ideas you can leave them on our discussion boards in Facebook, comment directly here on our blog, or even email us at feedback@johnnyvoip.com.
One last note, we’ll be giving our first live demo to people we don’t know right here in Ottawa at DemoCamp! We’ll be giving some sneak previews of what’s coming up.

We had an mid-week small release due to some refactoring with Adobe Flash’s security policies in the latest version of Flash. We are now compliant to Adobe’s latest security policies…but what did it change in JohnnyVoIP? The initial loading of the application will no longer take 5-10 seconds, it is now back to the original order of 1-3 seconds (Yay!). Enjoy making your free calls, expect to see a new release coming soon!

Yep, we’re still here in the New Year and we’ve just released another version to all of our awesome app users. The new releases has the following features :
- New UI
- Changing Presence (Online, Away, DND etc.)
- Popout (allows you to open JohnnyVoIP in a new window so you can continue to browse Facebook)
- Disable Sounds
- Multiple Bug fixes
We would like to thank our users for their continued feedback, you all have been great help. Continue to tell your friends and help the application grow.

We’re working on hard to make this release a lot more stable and were initially thinking to continue to be limited, but we’d rather get more users feedback to help us improve. That being said, JohnnyVoIP is now in live beta (is beta the right word? does it really matter…who doesn’t put beta on their site these days?)! After listening to our friends tell us what they wanted next in our release we have the following feature list:
- Instant Messaging (Online to Online) !
- Sounds (yeah they get annoying after a while, we’re getting you the disable sounds buttons soon)
- Better Call Control (On Hold, Reject Calls, Cancel Calls)
- Sorted Friends List
- Help
Thanks for your continued support and feedback. We’re pulling micro releases so expect small changes here and there. Happy Holidays everyone, don’t forget to spread the word!

Here’s Johnny! The first version of JohnnyVoIP was released in limited alpha to a small set of our friends on 12/15/2007. The feature set included the following :
- Facebook Friends Contact List
- Simple Presence (Online, Offline, In a Call) and Presence Message display
- Voice and Video Calls between another JohnnyVoIP user
- Better skinned flash camera and microphone settings
We used our friends to help us work the kinks and begin giving us ideas on what should be in our next release. JohnnyVoIP is working hard to make this the easiest possible communication medium for you and your friends without all the hassle that you get with all of those other applications you have sitting in your tool bar.
